Marion Mixers follows a proven “6-step” development process for each customer. We want to provide the best long-term value in mixing equipment for each application. This is our committment to our customers of new equipment.


1. Document – Using our exclusive online “Build a Mixer” program, we are able
     to quickly identify customer needs for process performance.

  • Based on information gathered from the customer and/or testing, Marion Mixer’s sales engineers will complete all pertinent data.
  • Customers are required to accept the Terms of the Performance Guarantee form at the time of order.
  • Customers are required to review and approve the summary page of Marion Mixer’s Build a Mixer (BAM) program
    • Process information recorded in BAM will establish the criteria for the successful performance of our equipment.
  • Customers will be required to review and approve the sales drawings.

 

2. Research – Using our database of existing applications we are able to
     research previous solutions to similar customer applications.

  • Marion Mixer’s sales engineers begin matching your application requirements with our design database.
  • Customer and sales engineer work together to refine the details of the custom design process.
  • Based on previous experiance, our sales engineers are able to design a test sequence for each application.

3.  Test – Marion Mixers maintains a fleet of batch and continuous mixers.

  • Marion personnel are required to witness a pilot test based on process parameters established by the customer.
    • For on-site testing, test equipment is available free of charge for up to 21 days.
    • The customer pays for in-bound and out-bound freight charges.
    • A Marion Mixer sales engineer must witness the test.
      • Consulting fees are charged at $1,000 per day plus travel and hotel expenses due upon completion of testing and paid via credit card.
      • Consulting fees will be deducted from the purchase price of new equipment with purchase.
      • Consulting fees and use of the Marion mixers test lab are
        free of charge if materials are shipped to our plant in Marion, IA.
      • The Performance Guarantee requirement for testing can only be waived by a Marion Mixer’s sales engineer who has specific knowledge of the application.

4.  Design – Before building production scale equipment Marion Mixers will produce:

  1. a written description of the application.
  2. Awritten description of the application.
  3. An approval drawing.
  • Customers will approve drawings and written specifications of the designed mixer.
    • Marion Mixer’s engineers will create a detailed AutoCad drawing(s)  of the proposed mixer.
    • The customer will approve the drawing(s) and other specified documents.

5. Manufacture and Inspection -

Manufacture

  • Each mixer project starts with a project kick-off meeting.
  • Fabricate and assemble production mixer.
  • We conduct a QC inspection.
  • We conduct a energized inspection.

Plant Inspection

  • We energize and operate each machine to inspect the
    equipment installation and process parameters.
  • We conduct a customer inspection.
    • Customers are required to pay a consulting fee for a Marion Mixer engineer to inspect the installation and manufacturing process after the equipment is installed and operational.
    • Consulting fees are charged at $1,000 per day plus travel and hotel expenses.
    • Consulting fees will be estimated and quoted as a line item in the equipment quotation.
    • Consulting fees are to reflect Marion’s cost without mark-up and are considered non-commissionable sales.
    • Consulting fees will be billed with the deposit invoice.
    • Marion Mixers will prepare a written report comparing the installation with the product and process parameters defined in the BAM and AutoCad drawing.

6. Onsite Startup Assistance – We provide service after the sale by providing
     personnel as needed to assist with startup assistance and to provide support to
     assure our machines meet our customer’s performance guarantee assurance.

  • Performance test certification.
  • 24 hour shipment of most parts.
