Choppers for Faster Mixing

During mixing the paddle blades continually bring material into the choppers, which are mounted through the side of the mixer trough. The cutting edges of the intensive 3600 RPM chopper rip apart and disperse lumps and agglomerates, break up liquid-rich shot balls, open up matted fibrous materials, and disperse pigments. To be used at high agitator speeds.

User Benefits

  • Thorough mixing: A superior product may be achieved with the combination of the chopper and the unique time-tested paddle blade design.
  • Faster mixing: Combines process functions. Mixes and disperses in one operation which means higher production volume.
  • Reliability: This chopper is proven in use in major processing systems.

Applications

  • Mixing agglomerated pigments into plastic powder. The choppers disperse the pigment and develop the color.
  • Mixing resin into compacted asbestos, synthetic fiber, or fiberglass. The choppers fluff and expand the asbestos or synthetic fiber so the resin uniformly penetrates and coats the fiber matrix.
  • Mixing blocks of solid shortening (or liquid shortening) into bakery mixes. The choppers tear up the chunks to produce a homogenous, lump-free mix.
  • Mixing PVC resins, oily plasticizers, fillers and pigments. The choppers disperse the pigments and plasticizers and uniformly coat the particles with plasticizer to produce flexible or rigid PVC.
  • Mixing dry pharmaceutical preparations with thick liquid binders. The choppers break up the liquid-rich lumps and coat the particles to produce a homogenous, compactible mix.

The Marion Mixer with Choppers is available in batch or continuous models. Existing Marion Mixers can be retrofitted with choppers. Trial mixers available for testing in your plant.
