Marion Offers A Variety Of Discharge Options To Meet The Specific Requirements Of The Application

Marion's paddle and ribbon agitators are designed to transfer the product toward the discharge opening while they are mixing. Batch mixers most frequently discharge out the center of the mixer. Continuous mixers discharge at one end. Marion offers various styles of valves or discharge devices. Selection of the appropriate valve for the application will depend on variables such as product flow characteristics, desired discharge rates and clean-out requirements for the mixer.

Knife Gate Valve

  • Closes against the flow of material
  • Reduced product pocket above valve
  • Resilient seat for liquid, dust or vacuum

Butterfly Valve

  • Valve disc seals against resilient seat
  • Sanitary split body design for fast cleaning
  • Lever or pneumatic actuated

Ball Valve

  • Sanitary, stainless steel design
  • Reduced product pocket above the valve
  • Suitable for liquid, dust and vacuum

Paddle Valve

  • Custom fabricated for each blender
  • Minimal pocket between the trough of the mixer and the valve
  • The valve has a mechanical seal that works well for throttling products and closing against material flow
  • Not intended for liquid or dusty applications
  • Valve disc and lever actuator are removable for cleaning and maintenance

Orifice Slide Gate

  • Easy to use, quick disassembly
  • 304 Stainless steel body & material contact
  • Positive material seal
  • Scissor action of sliding orifice minimizes shearing of materials
  • Self-cleaning action on opening stroke
  • Available in 2” thru 8” diameter sizes
  • Materials meet FDA requirements

Flush Plug Valve

  • Curved valve plate fits flush with trough
  • Custom designed to match diameter of mixer
  • Pneumatically actuated
  • Not recommended to close against product flow

Drop Bottom

  • Instantaneous discharge of entire batch
  • 100% clean-out of free flowing materials
  • Requires dust tight hopper below mixer

Roller Slide Gate

  • Large opening for fast discharge rate
  • Flange mounted to bottom of mixer
  • Economical design

Contour Slide Valve

  • Curved valve plate fits flush with trough
  • Custom designed to match diameter of mixer
  • Pneumatically actuated
  • Not recommended to close against product flow

Tilt Tub

  • Tilt discharge, mounted on sturdy, steel frame
  • Actuated, mechanical discharge controls
  • Available without pocket
  • Optional bottom discharge valves available
  • Range from small to large cu. ft. applications

Spherical Disc Valve

  • Sanitary, stainless steel design
  • Minimal product pocket above valve
  • Suitable for liquid, dust, and vacuum
  • Unrestricted product flow

Overflow Continuous (End Discharge)

  • Available on continuous mixers with reversing agitators
  • Product level in mixer controlled by weir
  • Unrestricted product flow
